I have been an educator in the US public school system for over 18 years. I teach students ages 4-11. In addition, I have experience leading professional development sessions for adult educators. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Messiah College and my Master of Education in Reading Education from Frostburg State University. I also have earned several ESL certifications. I have received exemplary evaluations throughout my career.
Teaching Experience
I have been employed with the Washington County MD school system for 18 years. During my tenure, I have taught 5th grade, 4th grade Magnet, been an intervention specialist and currently work as a GATE (gifted and talented) teacher. I have met with many successes throughout my career including providing engaging instruction that helps students gain the skills necessary to be successful. I am experienced with diagnosing difficulties in reading and math using formative assessments. I then design lesson plans that help students grow in the areas where they struggle. I have experience creating formative assessments and analyzing them. I can provide individual, small group, and whole group instruction effectively. I also work closely with other teachers to co plan and co deliver instruction. I have excellent communication skills and collaborate well. I am flexible and responsive.
